Ghoul’s Gone Wild 2011
The Outlaws were zombies for the 2011 Ghoul’s Gone Wild Parade. Aside from a few of them being thrown into jail from time to time, they also handed out candy and showed off some of their skating stunts. The Ghouls Gone Wild parade is an event the Outlaws participate in every year and plan to continue this tradition.
Scrimmage with Assassination City
The team was grateful to have the talented skaters from Assassination City Roller Derby come visit to scrimmage on November 5th. The Outlaws would like to thank them for taking the time to teach some of the newer skaters some tips for scrimmaging against flat track teams. They were very friendly and played hard. Thank you Assassination City!
OKC Outlaws VS. Mountain Gateway Sisterhood of Steel
On November 13th, the Outlaws traveled to Poteau, OK to take on the Mountain Gateway Sisterhood of Steel. Although the Outlaws did not win, with a score of 150 to 82, they were happy to play against such a strong and amazing team. Both teams had fun and were proud to have played such a good game against each other. The game was a great reminder to everyone of why they love roller derby so much. It is games like this one that reaffirms that love of the sport. The Outlaws would also like to congratulate Lil Viotch for getting MVP!
Second Annual Thanksgiving Mash Up
On November 18th, the Outlaws partook in the 2nd annual Thanksgiving mash up hosted by the South Central Roller Girls. There were four teams; Cranberry Crushers, Sweet Potato Hunnies, Jive Turkeys, and the Deviled Eggs. The teams played three games to determine the winner. Congratulations to Vegas Bomb for receiving MVP and to B. F. Skinya and Sami Nella for helping their team, the Deviled Eggs, win. They played hard and had fun with all the local skaters that participated and look forward to doing it again next year.
Annual Christmas Charity Mash Up
The Outlaws also partook in the Annual Christmas Charity Mash Up hosted by the Green Country Roller Girls. The Mash Up benefited the Emergency Infant Services. Four teams played and some of the Outlaw skaters were on two of those teams. Congratulations to Buxom Bella for helping her team win.
Oklahoma Children’s Cancer Association Party
The Outlaws enjoy partnering up with the Oklahoma Children’s Cancer Association. Each year OCCA has a Christmas party and for the past few years the skaters have helped out. They usually volunteer in setting up everything, as well as the game, facing painting and photo pick up booths. This is a great association and the Outlaw skaters love being able to spend some time volunteering with the children.
